Senior Umbraco Specialist / .NET Developer

XY Digital is looking for a Senior Umbraco Specialist to lead the delivery of content-managed websites and platforms for our international client base. You will own Umbraco builds end to end, from information architecture and document type modelling through to custom backoffice extensions, integrations and deployment.

This is a hands-on senior role with real ownership. You will shape the technical direction of client projects, review the team's code, and be the person the rest of the team turns to for Umbraco and .NET questions. We work remotely, in small focused teams, with direct client contact rather than layers of hand-offs.

1. Intro call with our team lead, 30 minutes, covering your background and what you are looking for

• Lead Umbraco and .NET implementations from technical discovery through to launch

• Model content structures that editors actually enjoy using

• Build custom backoffice extensions, property editors and integrations with third-party APIs

• Review pull requests and uphold coding standards across the team

• Work with designers and front-end developers to turn designs into flexible, editable templates

• Own performance, security and upgrade paths for the sites you deliver

• Scope and estimate work together with project management

• Mentor junior and mid-level developers

• 5+ years of professional .NET development experience (C#, ASP.NET Core)

• 3+ years building and maintaining production sites on Umbraco, ideally v10 or newer

• Strong grasp of document types, compositions, block list and block grid editors, and custom property editors

• Experience extending the Umbraco backoffice and packaging reusable components

• Solid SQL Server skills, including query tuning and migrations

• Confident with Razor views, front-end integration and modern build tooling

• Git-based workflows, code review and CI/CD pipelines

• Professional English, written and spoken, for direct client communication

• Umbraco certification (Professional or Master)

• Umbraco Cloud, Umbraco Commerce or uSync experience

• Azure App Service, Azure SQL and Azure DevOps

• Headless work with the Content Delivery API and decoupled front-ends such as Next.js or Nuxt

• Multi-site and multi-language setups

• Docker and infrastructure as code

• Experience mentoring mid-level developers or leading a small team
